Hey all, it’s our Black Friday Special Edition of the Cool Stuff We Bought This Week! If you haven’t heard the news, we’re offering 25% off the entire singles stock whenever you’re paying by any cash or card method (or crypto). With this crazy sale going on, I’m excited to share some of the snazzy new pickups this week that might interest you!
Our theme for the week is Old School Cool, and I’m excited to show off some awesome Old School cards we got in this week. Let’s take a look!
If you’re looking for the hottest items possible, look no further than the flagship card of our game, the Black Lotus! At the current time of writing, we’ve got two in stock at Heavy Played condition. If you’ve got the funds to throw down, this is a sweet deal for perhaps the most important Vintage staple.
Always a favorite in Old School, here’s a Heavily Played Chaos Orb! No 93/94 experience is complete without getting to flip this bad boy above the table to blow something up. Perhaps not the most efficient of cards, but it’s fun to still have a dexterity card left in the game that can be somewhat viable.
Speaking of Orbs, here’s a Winter Orb from Beta in Near Mint condition! Honestly, this is one of the most pristine I’ve ever seen. If you want to give your opponent a one-way ticket to the groan zone, this is the way to do it! This teams up well with cards like Stasis, Icy Manipulator, and Black Vise to send your opponents into ultimate frustration.
If there were one card I wish I had drawn in every game of Old School I’ve played, it’s always Library of Alexandria. The format is fun and wacky by nature, but this is truly the most terrifying card to face down. You’ll be praying for a Strip Mine every draw step when you see this across the table. Some rulesets of Old School restrict Strip Mine, but it’s hard to justify it when cards like Library, Tabernacle, and Maze of Ith can absolutely take over a game. This powerhouse came in at Near Mint, beautifully kept.
Last but certainly not least, here’s an Ancestral Recall, signed by the artist Mark Poole! We see very few pieces of power as is, but even rarer are the signed ones. Always cool to see most powerful and efficient card draw spell of all time, and arguably the most potent piece of the Power Nine.
That’s all for this week! Thanks for joining me on another weekly roundup of the Cool Stuff We Bought This Week. Join me next Friday to see more!
