Hey all, it’s Friday once again, and that means it’s time to take a look at the Cool Stuff We Bought This Week! With Ultimate release week behind us, people are flipping in their goodies to get the new cards at bargain prices. We got some pretty sweet stuff this week, and I’m excited to share it with you all.
I’ll start off with my favorite card of the week, this Onslaught foil Flooded Strand. I love the way the old foiling works with land cards especially, even though they lack the foiling in the art like newer cards feature. Rob Alexander’s art here is iconic. This still remains the most premium version of the card, although the Khans of Tarkir version and Nationals promo are pretty sweet too. Old foils are definitely hard to keep in good condition, as they are heavily subject to clouding and warping, but this one was fantastic looking.
Speaking of sweet lands, here’s a reportedly pack fresh Revised Underground Sea. This one came in through our retail store and was impressively clean. Considered by some to be the tenth piece of power, USea is still the most expensive Dual of the original bunch.
Slightly cooler (and definitely way more expensive) is this Unlimited version. We see these come in a lot less often the Revised counterparts, but I think this is the first Unlimited Underground Sea I’ve seen my entire time working in the buylist department. This one came in fantastic condition at Near Mint, too!
Here are some even more expensive Unlimited cards, Mox Jet, Sapphire, and Emerald. Part of the prestigious Power Nine, these mana rocks are absurdly good at accelerating fast starts and facilitating insane plays in Vintage and Old School. These were a little on the ugly side, but perfectly sleeve playable at Heavily Played.
This mana rock could give the others a run for their money in power level, as you’ll be adding 3 colorless right out the gate. This is the first Alpha Mana Vault I’ve ever seen, and it was in strikingly good condition at Near Mint.
Last, but certainly not least, here’s one of the coolest cards in Legacy, Candelabra of Tawnos. While not incredibly common due to its prohibitive price point and rarity, this card enables incredible synergy with High Tide and a bunch of Islands. You can make insane amounts of mana, Storm off with Time Spiral, and Brain freeze your opponent out of the game. This one was pretty nice at Near Mint.
That’s all for this week! Thanks for joining me on another weekly roundup of the Cool Stuff We Bought This Week. Join me next Friday to see more!
